“You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not ?”
George Barnard Shaw
How many of you believe on this? Well I do, and yes now I can boast off that I lived my dream and made it happen. I am not talking about some fantasy land stories, but for some it was like this before I made this happen. Since 2012 I was living the dream of Delhi To Goa Road Trip, and after like almost 5 years I made it happen, yes one dream of mine got unchecked finally. Read More
It was not the first time I was going for a Road Trip, I always prefer going on long tours by my own car, neither it was first tour of Rajasthan, being very near to Delhi, just Haryana being the divider in between it has been the easiest long drive for any person in Delhi to have his foot landed in the beautiful state Rajasthan. This state has something which has attracted me again and again, it barren lands and deserts, beautiful people with full of colors adding the charm in the hot air. Read More
What else could be more scenic than a sunset , i have always wondered and i am still amazed every time I see a new avatar of it. Orange has never been in my favourite colours list , though every time i see a new shade of Orange colour thanks to our mighty Sun god , its always warm and freshening and makes me craving for more and more of these beautifull scenes.
This time i was in in the land of Coconuts ” kerala ” for ” Kerala Blog Express “tour, 15 days in bus and kerala bringing every shade of orange colour in my life. Was surprised to see every street and every corner has its own distinct sunset view and every challenging the other views. Read More
“Its Beauty of TIME, Whatever effort you put in, it will be gone like dry Sand in the Palm”
This is what I have always followed in life, Like every other person for me also it happens spending time becomes tough but I know that it would be gone so have to make it count. Same happened with me when I recently traveled in the Indian Train from Bhopal to my city New Delhi. Life’s 8 hrs sitting at same spot was becoming tougher and tougher for me, thanks to Chair Car compartment of the train (Bhopal – New Delhi Shatabdi ) which only offers Chair Car sitting for Travelers, its tough for me to be comfortable in those seats, whether traveling in Train or in a Flight.
Thankfully for me i had My Greedy Backpack with My Greedy Camera in it , which came out as stress buster for me. Train was going to take 8 hrs to reach Delhi , and in those hours there might be some chances that i could witness the Sunset from Train , depending on train route and whether i would be able to open the gate of compartment which is not allowed in Indian Railways.
I was traveling on the fastest train of India , which runs on an average of 150km/hr speed , please don’t compare with Europeon or Chinese bullet trains , we are happy with this speed till now, only matters is accuracy of time which they commit. Standing on the door of the compartment , for which i had to ask Ticket Checker who allowed me only 10 mins which was more than enough. Without tripod , hand held trying to capture the moments go by, Every time i got up from my seat every other co passenger staring at me , suddenly sense of being a paparazzi had developed in me.
Some thing which i learned that day was , “ Why I Love Traveling By Train ? ” , the question which i had asked many a times to myself , and one of the newest answer came to me that day , ” I just had to be stationary at one point and scenery would change on its own after every mile the train travels for every minute “.
Some minutes back sun was clearly visible, and now he was fighting for survival like clouds has just read the concept ” Survival of Fittest by Charles Darwin ” and is now challenging sun who was enveloped and engulfed by the clouds.
Some minutes and some more miles , and the dream shot right in focus of mine and my camera ” What Else To Do Now , Just Click On High Speed “ , train was on its peak speed and so was my shutter speed , anytime he would be gone and i need to pay respect to his feelings , he has come specially in this way to bid Good Bye to me and the day.
Finally Paparazzi moments were over , i was back on seat , still many more hours left to reach home but now had some company , My shots and some co passengers who had come to me out of curiosity to see what i had been doing in that scorching heat outside leaving my air conditioned apartment.
There is nothing better than getting what you want , and that would count in those days of life.

Just went through the archives of my blog and came to know that I forgot to include the best stay I have ever had in my resent concluded Rajasthan tour. Heritage Mandawa , more than a century old haveli now turned into a Heritage hotel. I happen to stay here on my Mandawa visit.
What else i could have expected in my life , day long journey coming from Bikaner travelling around 300 Km in some 6-7 hrs , knees had been paining without finding much of stretch for them , tired of sitting on a seat and last one hour was too bumpy , i was just looking for nice stay to spend my night and start again rejuvenated the next day. Gave a call to my brother and he arranged a stay for me at Heritage Mandawa , thanks for their prompt response.
Maiden visit to Mandawa and so to Heritage Mandawa , had heard a lot from my brother who had been here on a family trip a year back.
My driver had told me a bit about this hotel , it was once a haveli of a Marwari family from Rajasthan , built somewhere around 1860. Some years back it was turned into a Heritage Hotel.
We checked in to our room and for the first time my wife came with response on first look ” Aaaahhh its Awesome ” , bell boy smiling and staring at her and i staring and smiling seeing bell boys look watching my wife clicking the pics from her cell phone and giggling again and again ” wow , its wow this is the best “.
Wish i could have spent some more time at Mandawa and Heritage Mandawa too , but no worries at all i know i am again going to visit them.
Next day we had to check out , they had arranged special Indian breakfast for us as most of other guest’s were foreigners and they were happy with Banana , cornflakes and black tea. Specially for us Heritage Mandawa staff arranged Parantha’s , cheese omlette and toast and all of it was amazing.
It was the checking out time but something was still left , my brother had told that they have renovated two rooms , and had told me to have a look to them.
One of that room was Sheesh Mahal or can say a room decorated with glasses. As soon as i had entered into it , i was getting a feeling like i have come to a set of some old bollywood movie like Mughal – e – Azam.
Just walk into the tiniest of stairs i have ever seen and you enter into this lounge area of Sheesh Mahal , maybe those stairs date back to that time when this Haveli was built and that time stairs width was kept to minimum.
Next to enter was the Kamra – e – Nakkashi ( Painting room ) or if i be too specific it was the room decorated with Frescoes all over it , not an inch left.
Truely it was one of those unexpected things which happened to me on this Rajasthan tour of mine.
Truely and amazing place to stay , if anybody visiting Mandawa i would strongly recommend Heritage Mandawa.
