I know I am late but still I would like to share the beauty of my city in autumn .One fine morning while sipping my morning coffee I just peeped out of my window and saw the Ivy creeper on my backward wall has changed its colour and soon i realized its autumn in Luxembourg .
It reminded me of the peepal tree near my house in India whose heart shaped leaves use to turn yellow n fall on the ground crisp and crunchy . Here in Luxembourg also there are heaps of fallen leaves and my daughter just love to walk on them and i just enjoy her and the crisp sound of those autumn leaves, it reminds me of my childhood days , i could myself in her , thanks to the Autumn in luxembourg its such a beautiful feeling.
Luxembourg is dense and green its a rich green land which makes it more beautiful in autumn as the city changes its colour. Autumn is my favorite season not only because of the cool breeze and the mist in the air which it brings but because of the warm colours it brings with it.
This is the view of Petrusse valley from the Adolph bridge . Just look at the colorful palette it has shade of,scarlet, vermilion , coral ,sap green ,gamboge hue it has all my favourite shades of red green and yellow . The Petrusse valley just look beautiful in every season be it spring ,summer , autumn and even in winter it has its own charm.
Autumn certainly is the richest of all the seasons as it has maximum gold with it .It was a lazy Sunday so me and my husband decided to drive to Esch sur sure. Its a small picturesque village in Luxembourg surrounded by hills .we enjoyed the beauty of hills and valley ,trees on both the side of with there golden leaves were so warm and beautiful.
There is no doubt about the scenic beauty of Luxembourg even the smallest of the village has its own beauty . Esh sur sure is one of them . Its a tiny village with the ruins of oldest castle of grand duchy of Luxembourg dated back to medieval times .
Few kilometers away from the village is erected a dam water retention which creates a huge artificial lake .in summers people do various sport activities like diving ,swimming , cannoning . We too have couple of time have came here with our lunch and had done picnic here but this time it was just a drive around .It was a nice drive ,we enjoyed the beauty of hills and valley ,trees on both the side of the road with there golden leaves were so warm and beautiful .
If spring give flower then autumn give fruits .While we can feel loss of flower in autumn but in autumn every leaf is a flower and loss of flower is compensated by the fruits which are in there full boom the vineyards are full of grapes the trees are turned into Apple orchids . My daughter”s school took her to the orchids to pluck the apples Oh ! how thrilled she was when she came back . People plan their visit to Luxembourg to enjoy wine -making in Autumn when the Moselle villages moves to harvest celebration .Here in Luxembourg the markets were filled with pumpkins and city celebrated the Halloween.
Markets were filled with Halloween costumes both cute and scary ,decorative ,lamps, masks ,candles , ghost, pumpkins , corn, spiders, web , witch caps ,flower pots , small plant pots, etc everything had Halloween attached to it .Kids wore Halloween costumes ,painted their faces . Pubs and nightclubs saw devils dancing .It was fun !!!
People in Luxembourg put spooky decoration on their windows and all around the house . Shops too decorate themselves in the same manner .
we too decorated our house by the craft work done by my Little daughter at her school . it was a different experience as in India we don’t have Halloween and as child i never knew about it ,but i am happy and thrilled with my daughter.
It is rightly said that ” of all the seasons, autumn offers most to a man and requires the least of him “. Now when the autumn is over, the city of Luxembourg is gearing up for its winter and for the grand Christmas celebration . Yes Christmas celebration is the grand finale event of ever happening city of Luxembourg will upload more on its Christmas preparation and Christmas night markets in my coming blogs ….
